John M. Bozeman was a founder of the town in 1864, for whom it’s named. Bozeman then became incorporated in 1883. Today, Bozeman offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including fly fishing, hiking, kayaking and mountain climbing. The town has seen a steady flow of new residents in recent years, while serving as a gateway community for visitors en route to Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman is home to Montana State University and the Museum of the Rockies.
